Taking care of the feet is not as hard as it may seem, and a little bit of extra time in your daily grooming routine can make a great difference for you.

How to Have Beautiful Feet

1. Do Foot Soaks on a Regular Basis

Soaking your feet regularly for about 5 to 10 minutes every day will help you get rid of unwanted skin excess, making your feet have a smooth and clean appearance. Lukewarm water is ideal to soak your feet in; you can add other substances like oatmeal, Epsom salts, essential oils or sea salt for a special touch.

If your skin is not too sensitive, you can mix water with some Listerine and soak your feet for 10 minutes to get better results. Make sure to dry your skin thoroughly with a cotton towel in order to avoid any risk of fungal infection.

2. Exfoliate

Exfoliate once every week or so, depending on how much you expose your feet to environment elements like sun or dirt. You can buy a foot-exfoliating cream which is sold at many stores and follow the manufacturer’s instructions, or you can just rub any grainy substance like sea salt or sugar against your feet skin with enough pressure to get rid of any unwanted skin.

Make sure not to over-exfoliate your feet since this can have a counterproductive effect.

The same goes for high heels as the constant use of them can cause, besides all the previous mentioned problems, feet deformities like bunions.

It is imperative that you choose your shoes accordingly to the situation for which you want to use them. For instance, running shoes for running. If you have flat feet or any other condition that changes the shape of your feet, use orthopedic soles to properly adjust your shoes and make sure they are right fit for you.

5. Clip Your Toenails Properly

You must trim your toenails with a nail clipper and always in a straight line. Avoid making a round shape because when your toenails start growing, they will grow into the flesh, causing painful and unsightly ingrown toenails. You can then use a nail file to smooth the edges.

6. Smooth Out Calluses and Rough Skin

How to have beautiful feet if some damage is already present? You have various options to smooth out and fix any skin imperfections. Another good but pricey option is using an electronic callus remover. With this device, you can be less concerned about cracking your skin and it will also require less effort to get the job done.

If you have a blister, it means you used an inappropriate kind of shoes. The first thing to avoid future blisters and let heal the one you already have, is wearing proper and comfortable shoes.

8. Remove Stains from Toenails

Your toenails can get stained from dirt or even from frequent use of very dark nail polish. There are many ways to deal with this problem.

  • If you do not have hydrogen peroxide at hand, then you can rub some toothpaste or apply whitening strips on your toenails.
  • You may need to refrain from using dark nail polish or you can use a protective layer of clear nail polish before you apply the dark one until your toenails get their normal color back.

9. Try Paraffin Wax Treatment

A paraffin treatment uses a special warm oil-based liquefied wax where you will dip your feet in. As a plus effect, it will soothe any pain or soreness that you may have.
